"Procreations of the Idle Mind™" is a live digital exhibit presenting a continuous flow of unconscious thoughts generated by an AI. Key ideas surface in red. They guide viewers through the evolving storyline as it forms.

The work mirrors the wandering nature of human thinking: the thoughts that arrive in the shower, behind the wheel, in the margins of a meeting. It blurs the line between machine and human creativity, and asks whether stream of consciousness is a property of minds or just of unstructured time.

The piece was created in 2023 in collaboration with ChatGPT. At the time, the author had no formal background in software engineering, web design, or Python. ChatGPT reduced the barrier to entry far enough that the creative vision could be realised directly, without a developer in the middle.

That was 2023. Three years later: 200,000+ lines of production code, a live edtech platform, and this site. The exhibit is still running.
